This book provides, for the first time, a complete overview of the works that Richard Long created along ten years (1985-1994) at various places of Spain. At the final stages of the modern period, this artist, with one of the most solid, original and rigorous artistic careers of the last decades, seems to return to the discourse of genuine Romanticism, giving up any strategies of power (of representation). « Indeed – as Gloria Moure postulates – as befitting an interactive landscape painter, Long is inside representation, in other words, he does not subsequently duplicate that first representation the intellect makes of what is perceived. On the other hand, however, in his works action, idea and form come inseparably together on a level of extraordinary purity, so that they would satisfy the most stringent theorists of Minimalism, Performance Art or Conceptual Art.
